Becker’s Staff Recommendations
“Hidden Gems” Every season, our staff get the opportunity to explore Jasper National Park and surrounding areas and all the exiting attractions and hikes that it has to offer. Over the years, our accumulated top recommendations for our guests, which are not as commonly known are as follows:
Before heading out, always check the local weather forecast and carry bear spray!

Moose Lake
Located at Maligne Lake, approximately 1 hour from Becker’s, you will find this hidden gem. An easy trail, perfect for beginners, approximately a 2.4km loop – you will find an area very frequented by moose with mountainous and forest views.

Beauty Creak and Stanley Falls
Located approximately 1 hour south of Becker’s is small parking lot, that will lead you to this not very known beauty. Starting on an old fire road, this hike leads to you up gradually beside a canyon with numerous small waterfalls before reaching Standly falls, at the end of the hike. Its approximately 1.5 km each way; a 3km out and back trail.

Goats and Glaciers Viewpoint
Located approximately 25 minutes south of Becker’s Chalets, you will find a viewpoint overlooking the Athabasca River with stunning mountainous views. It is frequented by mountain goats, as they love to lick the limestone cliff you’re standing above.
