WELCOME TO
Becker’s Chalets in Jasper
The Past
Marilyn Monroe stayed at Becker’s Bungalows during the filming of “The River of No Return” during late July and early August, 1953. Baseball star Joe DiMaggio, her fiancée, visited her while she was there. She stayed in what is now room #33! Read the article, Hollywood in the Canadian Rockies.
From 1978 to 1989, the Venchiarutti Family worked at fixing and establishing the 42 cabins as they needed lots of attention.
From 1989 to 2000 the Venchiarutti family had a 10 year master plan to make Becker’s Chalets a first class resort of what it is today. This is when the large family duplex log buildings fully equipped with kitchens and stone wood burning fireplaces and the one bedroom 4-plex buildings were constructed. This enabled us to cater to all group sizes.
During this time period, Becker’s Bungalows changed its name to Becker’s Chalets – Becker’s Chalets grew from 42 cabins to the 118 we have today. The original 42 cabins are still available today, although updated to today’s standard, they still possess the original character and charm including their stone fireplaces.

The Present
Today, Becker’s Chalets is a first class family operation that is dedicated to providing you with a clean, comfortable, relaxing and positive Rocky Mountain experience. Located along the Athabasca River, with a wooded setting and spectacular mountainous views, Becker’s Chalets has the ideal location. Only 5km from the hustle and bustle of the Jasper town site, but yet close enough to walk, bike or a 5 minute drive.
Becker’s Chalets is a seasonal resort, open from May to October. We have a variety of cabins, chalets and units available to suit your every need – ranging from one bedroom to four bedroom accommodations.

Our Guests:
We had an amazing four night stay in a riverside chalet. Perfect accommodation for 2 with a view and sound of the Athabasca River that we will remember always. We loved it. We felt at home here from the moment we checked in, such friendly staff throughout from reception to breakfast and cleaning staff too. We felt we made the best choice for our stay in Jasper ~ excellent!
As a combination of price, comfort, cleanliness and access to nature, I don’t think any other place in the rockies can compete. This place is a gem, I’ll stay here every time I come to Jasper. The staff is also a pleasure to interact with.
Becker’s Chalet is a hidden joy 5 minutes out of the town of Jasper. We enjoyed our little chalet with a delightful kitchen filled with everything we needed. Right on the Athabasca River, you can enjoy the sounds of the rapids in this very scenic setting on many Adarondic chairs set around the river. Very comfortable hide-a-bed right in front of gas-burning fire place. My daughter enjoyed chasing many, many Canada Geese. We really enjoyed them. Staff were very friendly and helped us out when we locked ourselves out of the room. Hope one day to return! Beautiful stay!
